FAU College of Business and Barry Financial to Present a Financial Planning Seminar

BOCA RATON, FL
- A financial planning seminar for the public titled "Putting It All Together" will be held on the Boca Raton campus of Florida Atlantic University on Friday, Janunary 26,2007. The educational event, sponsored by FAU's College of Business and the Barry Financial Group, a Boca Ratonbased financial planning firm, will feature a wide variety of speakers with expertise in annuities, long-term care, insurance, elder law and other subjects of importance in the planning process.

"Many factors must be taken into consideration in developing a financial plan that
will serve the best interests of the individual and his or her heirs," said Dr. J. Dennis
Coates, dean of FAU's College of Business. "Through his far-reaching network of
contacts in the financial industry, Jim Barry has brought together a group of presenters
who are experts in their fields and skilled at making public presentations." Barry, whose
call-in show "Talk About Money" is seen weekly on WPTV, Channel 5, is the founder
and chairman of the Barry Financial Group.

The day-long seminar's keynote speakers will be Boston attorney Patricia
Annino, an estate planning specialist and the author of a book titled Women and Money,
and Jefiey Everett, chief investment officer of the Templeton Funds. Everett is
frequently quoted in the national news media on the overall economic picture.

Session presenters and their topics will include James T. Swanson of MFS
Investment Management speaking on "Outlook for 2007 - What's Best?"; James M.
Barry of the Barry Financial Group on "Asset Allocation: Principles and Risk
Tolerance"; B. Lydia Young of the Barry Financial Group on "Long Term Care -
$75,000 Plus"; Heide Kavo of the Lincoln Financial Group on "Annuities A to Z";
Andrew Szpiro of the John Hancock Life Insurance Company on "Life Insurance
Strategies"; David Pratt of Proskauer Rose LLP on "How to Disinherit Uncle Sam";
attorney Robert M. Arlen on "The Best Charitable Techniques You Have Not Heard Of';
CPA Mitch Margolis of Rachlin on "Five Tax Ideas That Will Make a
Difference"; William Stephenson IV of Franklii Templeton on "So You Think You Can
Trade?"; elder law attorney Scott Solkoff on "Protecting Your Savings, Your Home and
Yourself"; Richard Hollowell of Rachlin on "Real Estate 2007: The
Perfect Storm"; and Tandy Robinson of Wachovia on "Relationship Banking."

The seminar, to be held fiom 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, January 26, at various
locations on FAU's Boca Raton campus, will include continental breakfast, coffee
breaks, a catered luncheon, and a wine and cheese reception. Every participant will
receive a free copy of Patricia Annino's book, Women and Money. Proceeds fiom the
admission cost of $100 per person will benefit the College of Business.
