Las Olas Centre, located at 450 E. Las Olas Blvd., has seen recent enhancements and expansions of two major Downtown Fort Lauderdale firms: accounting powerhouse Rachlin LLP and legal powerhouse Gunster Yoakley. Separated by just a few floors and vastly differing disciplines, the two share common views in the valuation of the comfort of those working in and visiting the office, efficiency at work and the concern for the client.

Rachlin, on accounting and advisory firm that caters to high net worth individuals, private and public companies and governmental entities, has given new meaning to the terms development and renovation.
Formally known as Rachlin Cohen & Holtz LLP, this expanding company has changed much more than its name. Beginning in November of 2006, Rachlin underwent a remarkable makeover, and with a growing team, they clearly needed to. Space and increased team unity played on important role in Rachlin's renovation and motivated brilliant designs that truly epitomize the firm's ethos in a South Florida setting
The partners at Rachlin not only value the team’s productivity, but also its level of comfort, satisfaction with the work culture and mindset. In fact, this Rachlin ideal inspired the initiation of this remarkable renovation. One of their most notable added features is their extended dining area. Scattered with bright blue and green chain, spacious tables leveled at various heights and two flat screen televisions, the dining area overlooks a beautiful view of the New River, which is enhanced by the glass walls that outline the open space. This improved feature not only allows for added room, but it also acts as a common area for all members to gather together, increasing team unity.
Rachlin has targeted every aspect of their team's needs and wants. To begin, the workspaces are of the highest quality. Rachlin professionals researched and analyzed various avenues of design that allow for increased work productivity and a relaxed work atmosphere. Steelcase, a company that is based out of Michigan, played a key role in facilitating Rachlin's expansion, providing them with information about the most efficient furniture required to benefit the company and the office atmosphere. Every employee was provided with new ergonomic chairs that are adjustable for added comfort and provide great support.
Rachlin processionals also researched other offices, analyzing differing styles and varying techniques that were geared toward increasing the firm's productivity. The cubicles-if you can even call them that-in some cases line the windows of the building. Providing increased light that is complemented by the diffused lighting that emanates from fixtures placed above these areas. This soft light provides better visibility and thus increased efficiency and organization.
With extended hours and a heavy workload, employees deal with the most stressful part of their duties associated with their profession during the busy season, From Feb. 15 to April 15.

The quiet room and massage room cater to needed minutes of rest and relaxation. Ten minutes in a quiet room, with dim adjustable lighting and comfortable chairs, allow for much needed respite and rejuvenation that these professionals savor. Massages are free each week during busy season and are available throughout the year at a reduced rate.
