Scott Freeman is a partner in Rachlin's Tax and Business
Services division. He is a licensed CPA in both Florida and
Ohio and has been practicing for more than 15 years. During
this time, he has provided various tax services to numerous
clients, including multi-subsidiary consolidated groups, both
public and privately held, as well as middle-market, closely held
corporations with annual revenues exceeding $75 million.
His services include traditional tax compliance and research
as well as tax planning associated with more complex issues.
He provides assistance with tax structuring for corporate
acquisitions and associated due diligence matters. Mr. Freeman
is also skilled in determining tax consequences associated with
various subsidiary/asset dispositions. He also provides analysis
of shifts in corporate ownership.
He has also been intricately involved with the firm’s
assurance division in developing Rachlin’s FIN 48 initiative,
including teaching in-house seminars to other Rachlin
assurance and tax professionals, as well as Rachlin clients.
He also works closely with the firm's Commercial
Assurance group regarding FAS 109 (accounting for income
taxes) and FIN 48 (accounting for tax uncertainties). He reviews client-prepared calculations and footnote
disclosure, and he has been engaged to prepare such computations and disclosures for the purpose of providing to other CPA firms.
Mr. Freeman co-presented a seminar highlighting new
tax law changes to the Gold Coast chapter of the FICPA.
In addition, he has also participated in Rachlin's Continuing
Legal Education program designed to provide basic accounting
and tax information to local attorneys as well as has presented similar information to various financial institutions locally.
