David Appel is a partner in Rachlin’s Tax & Business Services division. He has more than 28 years of multidisciplinary experience in domestic and international taxation working with family businesses in a variety of industries. He has successfully addressed complex issues with family business in estate, succession and retirement planning, including preserving family businesses and wealth transfer to future generations. He was awarded the designation of Personal Financial Specialist by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In addition, Mr. Appel has worked on complex issues in IRS audits, business reorganizations, acquisitions and international transactions for family business. He also assists in the establishment of family business offices.
Mr. Appel has lectured on estate tax, business succession planning and family planning. Additionally, he has presented, on numerous occasions, to banking institutions, municipalities and at various tax conferences.
He serves on the board of directors and executive committee of a local charitable organization, providing long-range and financial planning and assisting in the design of the organization’s governance model. Mr. Appel is also a member of Rachlin’s board of directors.
