Carl Howden is a partner within the firm's Tax and Business Services division. He more than has 25 years of experience serving the tax needs of a diverse client base.

Mr. Howden leads Rachlin's state and local (SALT) tax group, where he oversees the firm's multi-state compliance and planning functions as well as the cost segregation and property tax reduction task forces. Through his leadership, Rachlin is able to handle the tax concerns of a wide variety of businesses throughout the United States. Under his direction, his team can assist clients in getting the best solution to any federal or SALT issue, including voluntary disclosure, taxing authority representation, ruling requests, transaction planning and structuring.

Mr. Howden has been interviewed several times by the local media regarding tax matters impacting businesses locally and nationally. In addition, he serves on the Baker Tilly SALT Committee, which is composed of state and local tax representatives within Baker Tilly's U.S.-member firms. This allows Mr. Howden and Rachlin access to resources at the partner-level that can assist clients in resolving issues within any state or local jurisdiction.

"Paying off your mortgage early – good or bad? "

Carl Howden, a Partner in Tax and Business Services at Rachlin, will discuss the advantages of paying off your home mortgage early during a special Local 10 report Sunday, July 15 at 11:00 p.m. on ABC affiliate WPLG, Channel 10.

The story will likely re-air on Monday, July 16,  between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. and possibly a third time Monday, July 16, at 12-noon.
